Walking with God
Secret prayers, secret duties, meditations on divine subjects. David Brainerd’s diary is full of mentions of these. Often when asked to spend more time with God, we fume, “What about my work? Must I neglect my work?” while we don’t ask the same question the other way around. For it is far more often do we neglect God, but we don’t see that and the need to repent.
Let not every single moment pass without an awareness of You, Lord… let every single moment be lived for You, for why should I continue living if I am not living for You? What is more miserable than living without You?
Can a sweet experience with God be a daily experience to me? If men like David Brainerd could, why can’t I?
